From concept, design and product development, through the manufacturing & shipping.
We take pride in our ability to not only provide a range of standard products, but also in our capability to manufacture customer-specific products. Our customers’ needs and our focus on customer relationships, is of paramount importance to our team.
We are a proudly South African company, sourcing our materials from local suppliers.
We specialise in the manufacturing of extruded rubber products for mining, construction, logistics, and shipping industries.
The process of converting rubber compounds into a particularly shaped end product, without the moulding process – the shape is achieved by utilizing a rubber extrusion machine and a custom made die. The rubber extrusion machine consists of three parts:
A die (provides the shape of the end product), a heated shearing and screw that feeds and pushes the heated compound in the conveyor channel, and a hopper which is located above the conveyor.
A die (provides the shape of the end product), a heated shearing and screw that feeds and pushes the heated compound in the conveyor channel, and a hopper which is located above the conveyor.
The compound is fed from the hopper to the conveyor, where the compound is heated to soften it, it is then sheared and pressurized by the screw’s turning action. The pressurized heated rubber compound is forced/pushed into the die where it is formed into a specific shape, depending on the cavity shape of that particular die.(Very much like a cookie dough is forced through a cookie shaper tube to produce different shaped cookies).
To cool and set the extruded product, it is run along a cooling and curing tunnel – ready for dispatch or warehousing.
Due to the minimal wastage during the manufacturing process of extruded products, it is a very efficient and economical process. As it’s a continuous process, any length or shape can be produced in a short period of time.
The end product is resilient to harsh chemicals, temperature extremes, UV light, aging, friction, abrasion and general wear and tear. It is also a very flexible and lightweight product.
Our rubber extrusions find applications in a wide range of industries, from automotive and construction to aerospace and electronics. We have the versatility to adapt to various sectors and provide solutions that cater to your industry’s specific needs.
